UREC Express Fitness Instructor Training (FIT)

Learn the basics of group fitness instruction with UREC's Fitness Instructor Training (FIT) program. In order to register for this Express FIT course, you must have a current national certification and experience instructing. This includes general (ACE Group Fitness, AFAA, etc) or format specific (Les Mills Body Pump, INSANITY, Aqua Zumba, etc). This one day course will take place on December 2 from 9 am -6 pm at the Chinook Student Center and will cover theoretical content and hands-on practice in instructing. This training is required to work for UREC and prepares instructors for taking the ACE group fitness instructor certification exam. After successfully completing the training and the subsequent shadowing process, participants can audition to lead group fitness classes for UREC. Registration fee includes manual, text book rental, and enrollment into one Session I fitness class of your choice as a shadow. Please note that completion of this course does not guarantee employment.
